Statement |
1.Date of occurrence of the event：2025/02/08 2.The subject of the incident：Listed companies 3.Cause of occurrence (Explanation of the event)：Additional information about a leak in the insulated pipeline of the polyester staple fiber production line caused an explosion on 2025/02/06. 4.Handling procedure：A fire broke out at the Company’s Hsinpu plant on 2025/02/06. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. This accident tragically resulted in the loss of 2 employees and the hospitalization of 19 others. Currently, 9 individuals remain hospitalized, while 10 have been discharged to continue their recovery at home. The Company shall fully support the families of the deceased employees with funeral arrangements and provide appropriate compensation, as well as offer necessary care and support for their children. For hospitalized employees, dedicated staff have been assigned to assist their families with medical care around the clock. Additionally, FENC is extending its solicitude and care to other injured employees to aid in their recovery. 5.Status of the injunction by the respective competent authority：The Company received another official order today from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the Ministry of Labor, regarding the fire incident at the Hsinpu Chemical Fiber Plant on 2025/02/06. The order mandates the immediate suspension of operations involving heat transfer fluid systems and related areas at the Hsinpu Chemical Fiber Plant, effective 10:00 AM on the same day, for necessary improvements. The scope of the suspension will be further expanded as required. 6.Whether being fined or penalized：Not yet determined 7.Administrative fines(amount)：Not yet determined 8.Anticipated possible loss or impact：The Company’s Hsinpu Chemical Fiber Plant has an annual polyester production capacity of 400,000 tons. The estimated monthly revenue impact is NT$2.1 billion, with projected monthly shutdown losses of NT$245 million. The extent of damage to the production line and equipment is still under evaluation. 9.Amount of insurance claims that might be obtained(amount)：Not yet determined The Company has full insurance coverage, and the estimated financial loss is still being assessed. 10.Improvement status and future countermeasures：The Company will conduct a thorough review and implement necessary improvements while fully cooperating with the investigation.
