Statement
1.Date of occurrence of the event:2020/09/26
2.Cause of occurrence:
According to the fire caused by Therminol-66 in Hsinpu Chemical Fiber Plant on Sep. 23 2020,
Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Ministry of Labor requested the influenced areas
in the North site of Hsinpu Chemical Fiber Plant to stop the production for a month since 11am on Sep. 24 2020.
3.Handling procedure:
The Company has stopped the production in the influenced areas.
4.Anticipated possible loss:
No material impact on the Company’s finance and operations, since the Company has secured the
sufficient inventory to support the operations and is able to transfer products among plants.
5.Amount of insurance claims that might be obtained: Under the evaluation.
6.Improvement status and future countermeasures:
The Company fully cooperates with the investigation and prepares the supplement for restart under
thorough analysis, review and contingency plans. Once the authority’s approval was granted,
the Company could immediately restart the production.
7.Any other matters that need to be specified:
To clarify the previously announced material information of a fire in Hsinpu Chemical Fiber Plant
on Sep. 24 & 25 2020, the leakage in the air was Therminol-66, not Dowtherm.
