1.Date of occurrence of the event:2025/02/06 2.Company name:Far Eastern New Century Corporation 3.Relationship to the Company (please enter ”head office” or ”subsidiaries”):The Company 4.Reciprocal shareholding ratios:N/A 5.Cause of occurrence: A leak in the insulated pipeline of the polyester staple fiber production line caused a gas explosion. 6.Countermeasures: At 2:53 a.m., a fire broke out at the Company’s Hsinpu plant. The local fire department was promptly notified and responded to the incident, extinguishing the fire by approximately 3:30 a.m. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. As of now, 21 individuals have been transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, with 2 fatalities, 5 in serious condition, and 14 sustaining minor injuries. The extent of damage to the production line and equipment is still under evaluation. The affected polymerization unit currently has a daily capacity of 160 tons; however, there is no significant impact on the Company’s overall operations. The Company has full insurance coverage, and the financial impact is expected to be minimal. 7.Any other matters that need to be specified (the information disclosure also meets the requirements of Article 7, subparagraph 9 of the Securities and Exchange Act Enforcement Rules, which brings forth a significant impact on shareholders rights or the price of the securities on public companies.): The Hsinpu plant is fully dedicated to supporting the families of the deceased employees by providing compensation and assistance with post-incident arrangements.
